This article outlines common obstacles with using variants. If you are unable to switch the variant on the ad level in Meta, please follow these points.
The ad being worked on has to be published, and not in draft, before being able to switch variants.
In order to switch between variants, make sure that the feeds are updated.
First, make sure that the Confect feed has refreshed after adding a variant. Do this by going to the Facebook feed, clicking the (i) icon, and clicking the refresh icon.
Then, make sure that your Meta catalog has loaded this by going into the catalog Data source in Commerce Manager, and click "Request update now".
Meta may sometimes cache the older design in the ad-level preview.
If you’ve tried changing the variant but nothing happened, save the ad and reload your page. Then try switching again.
A failing integration will cause the variant switching not to work. Also, the person integrating the Meta connection needs to be a "full access" user in the Business Account.
Visit “Integrations” and make sure it’s working properly.
The ad cannot have any of these options applied for the variant switching to work.
Make sure this option shows “0”.
Lastly, check that you have our plugin downloaded and updated to the latest version and that you’re logged in with the same email as you use in Confect (see this by clicking the gear icon).
