Prepare a video template before connecting. To learn how to create a video template, click here.

Once you have successfully created your first video template in Confect, you are just a couple steps away from catalog videos in your Ads Manager!

Now, you must connect this to your existing Meta catalog to start running product-level videos.

1. Add the Video into your Confect catalog

First, go into the "Catalogs" tab.

Here, click "Meta" to open your existing, already connected, catalog ("In Use").

Now, simply press "Edit Catalog" in the top right, and then click "Videos" in the top left corner.

Here, click "+ Add Variant" and select your video template.

(The video variant does support design rules - add them now if necessary.)

Now, just click "Save" in the top right corner and wait for your videos to generate.

We recommend waiting 12-24 hours between adding a video variant to using it in ads.

This is to give Confect and Meta time to properly generate and load the video, so that it can display properly to your audience once launched.

2. Use catalog videos in ads

Since your catalog now includes videos and images, you must specify which one you want to use on the ad level.

This is controlled inside the Confect plugin's dropdown.

Simply choose "Video Catalog Ad" from the dropdown, the same as when switching variants.

Before switching, make sure to publish the ad (there can be no draft).

Video catalog ads are only available as a "Single image or video" format - switching to Video will change the format if necessary.

The Meta algorithm will still choose the most attractive product for each user based on tracking data; however, only showing one product per user.
