If you wish to upload a video with a transparent background into Confect, it is necessary to ensure that the video is downloaded properly, as by default all video files are exported with a background.

If you want to use animated elements inside of Confect video ads, this are the steps to export this file properly (.mov with alpha channel).

This can be done in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or Canva Pro.

As this needs to be accomplished outside the Confect platform, please look for native documentation for the software you're using, if in doubt.

Each tool has specific codecs and formats that support transparency, so make sure to select those carefully based on the software you're using.

Adobe Premiere Pro

To export a video with a transparent background in Premiere Pro, you'll need to use a format that supports alpha channels (which handle transparency). Here's how:

Steps:

  1. Complete your editing in Premiere Pro.

  3. Go to File > Export > Media.
  4. In the Export Settings window, choose QuickTime as the format.
  5. Under Video Codec, select GoPro CineForm or Apple ProRes 4444. These codecs support alpha channels.
  6. Check Render at Maximum Depth and choose Depth: 8-bpc + Alpha or 32-bpc + Alpha to ensure transparency.
  7. Click Export or Queue to send it to Adobe Media Encoder.

Steps:

  1. Finish your composition and ensure that you have no background layer (the checkered grid should be visible).
