Creating individual designs with "New Content"

You may not always want to create a design for all products. Even though that’s what we do here at Confect, you also have the option to use the “New Content” feature and create individual designs to be downloaded as a .png.

This can be a convenient way to quickly generate designs to be used on social media, prints, email or web banners, and display advertising for Google.

Creating individual customized designs

Simply click on the new content feature located at the top of the left-hand menu to get started with your new design.

Click “Make content” once the window opens.

Select your design type

The first step is to select what type of design you want to create.

The options include: social media, email, web and display creatives with various dimensions and aspect ratios.

You can also create a custom size design, if none of the options fit your use-case.

Choose from existing designs or templates

Once you select a type, all your existing designs that fit the size and aspect ratio will automatically show up for you to select from. 

Don’t worry, you can adjust them without changing the original, in case you’re currently using that design for any of your product feeds.

Alternatively, you can click on “Templates” and browse the selection of pre-made designs we’ve created for you.

Select the product for this design

As you’re now creating individual designs, you have to select which product this design is supposed to use.

Click “Add” next to the product of your choice, and then click “Customize” at the top right of the screen.

If you’d like to create designs for a couple, not just one, design, this will be possible in the next steps. For now, just select the first one.

Customize your individual design

You will now see a familiar interface. This design editor works in the exact same way as when creating designs for product feeds.

You can now make changes in the design, without affecting the original.

You can change any aspect of the design, from small adjustments such as text or position, to completely switching the background.

In this example, we’re creating a social media post for an anniversary competition, so we'll just remove the price and add some text.

You can now click “Download” in the top right corner if you just want to create one design, or add variants to create more individual designs.

Creating design variations

Variant designs can be created either for different products, or using the same product with small design changes.

You do this by clicking on the “+ Variants” button in the top right corner of the screen.

Product variants

After creating a new variant, you can once again select the product of your choice.

Once you select the second product however, it will have the original design applied to it.

You can change this by clicking “Copy design from another variant” and choosing “1”.

Now, repeat this process, creating variants with the same design, but different products, for as many items as you wish.

Once you’re satisfied with the number of variants created, click “Download” in the top right corner.

You will have the option of downloading all the variants in a .zip file, or individually as a .png by clicking on the designs.

Design variants

After creating a new variant, click “Copy products from another variant”, select “1”, and then click “Customize”.

You can change this design completely separately from the first one, or click “Copy design from another variant” and make small, or large, adjustments.

Now, repeat this process, creating variants with the same design, but different products, for as many items as you wish.

Once you’re satisfied with the number of variants created, click “Download” in the top right corner.

You will have the option of downloading all the variants in a .zip file, or individually as a .png by clicking on the designs.
